A Hampshire couple have been able to purchase their dream home in their ideal seaside location, thanks to David Wilson Homes and Help to Buy.
Sammy and her partner who were renting in Waterlooville, didn't think they'd be able to afford a property at Harbour Place in Bedhampton, but with Help to Buy, the twosome have now set up home at the leading housebuilder's development. Sammy said "During the pandemic, we had the opportunity to save towards a deposit, but with rising house prices, we still weren't sure we'd have enough money to purchase a good home in a good location. With Help to Buy however, we've managed to afford our forever hoe at Harbour Place, which is also in the perfect location for us. We couldn't be happier". And it was only a chance look around the David Wilson Homes development that led to the duo's move, in the first place.
Sammy said "we had no intention of buying a home at Harbour Place, but we were intrigued to see what was on offer. And after viewing a Show Home and looking around the development, we fell in love. We went away having reserved our first home together".
David Wilson Homes at Harbour Place is located between Bedhampton and Drayton. It's surrounded by green open space and is on the coastline, with Langstone Harbour on its doorstep. Sammy added "The sites' location and amount of green space really appealed to us and when we heard that a plot had fallen through and had become available, we decided it was too good an opportunity to miss".
And now after moving in just in time for Christmas, the couple are all settled in, getting to know their neighbours and are already enjoying the benefits of Harbour Place's proximity to the sea.
Sammy added "We both have kayaks and to be so near to the coast here, means we can enjoy our hobby within a stone's throw of our new home".
The 3 bedroom Archford property is the home that won Sammy and her partner over. The house which includes sash-style windows throughout, comes with a spacious lounge as well as a stylish open plan kitchen and dining area, along with French doors opening out onto the garden. A lobby, separating the kitchen and the lounge, has stairs leading to the first floor. Upstairs the main bedroom has an en suite, there's a further double bedroom, a single bedroom and a family bathroom. The home also comes with two parking spaces.
Tammy Bishop, David Wilson Homes Sales Director, Southampton Division said "I'm so glad that Sammy and her partner have found their forever home at this beautiful development. It's also wonderful to hear how Help to Buy has helped them secure the home they really wanted. The scheme has been a great step on the property ladder for many first time buyers at our developments across the region".
Help to Buy allows first time buyers the chance to secure a new home under the value of £437,600 (in the South East) with just a 5% deposit. The Government lends the buyer 20% of the value of the property in the form of an interest free equity loan for 5 years, meaning that buyers then gain access to some of the great mortgage rates currently available with just a 75% mortgage.
David Wilson Homes at Harbour Place is a collection of 3 and 4 bedroom homes ideal for first time buyers and growing families. A variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants can be found in the nearby town centre and with easy access to both the A3 and M27, it boasts excellent road links to nearby cities and beyond.
