Country retreat with village life

After living in the countryside, Kirsty and Justin Cross wanted a home that was closer to amenities so their growing children could meet up with friends more easily and increase their independence. But none of the family wanted to live on a huge development. 

“Having come from a quieter rural environment near Ifold, I really value my own space so I wanted somewhere which would still feel like a bit of a retreat,” said Kirstly. 

“Equally as the children are growing up, I was spending more and more time ferrying them around so we also wanted somewhere with good transport and amenities. But life’s so busy, it’s nice to come home to somewhere peaceful.”

After ruling out the larger developments, Kirsty and Justin discovered Brookfields in Pulborough by Latimer. 

“We were driving past after from shopping at Tesco in Pulborough and called in to look around. The show house is beautiful, it has a lovely tranquil feeling of home which I loved.” added Kirsty. 

“Maria in the sales office was so helpful, which meant everything was very straightforward. She was amazing!”

The family chose a 4 bedroom house with plenty of space for all the family and thanks to the location, it has an open outlook with views across to Pulborough Brooks.  

“Justin has walked our dog Monty over to the Brooks from home and the shops and station are a walk away as well so everything is almost on the doorstep.”

The family wanted to stay near The Weald in Billinghurst where their eldest was already studying at the school which has an ‘outstanding’ rating from Ofsted, and where their younger child will be starting in September. 

The outstanding 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes at Brookfields are set just off Stane Street, Pulborough, surrounded by leafy countryside and within walking distance of the primary school, doctors’ surgery, supermarket, and station. “Everything was included within the house so when we moved in just after Christmas,” said Kirsty. “The flooring was laid and a range of kitchen appliances installed. It’s all just as we would have chosen ourselves. Justin is a carpenter and he has been amazed at the quality of the finish. 

“All the support from Maria and everyone I’ve been in touch with at Latimer and Henry Adams has been amazing. We’re really happy here, it already feels like home.”
