Just six weeks after buying their first home together at Priors Orchard in Southbourne, Roisin Macdonagh and Scott Dormer welcomed their baby son, Rafferty.
“We found the house in January and moved in at the end of March, then Rafferty arrived in May, so we had a very busy few months!” said Scott. “Thankfully everyone at Priors Orchard helped us to make sure there were no delays along the way and the timing all worked out very well in the end.”
Roisin and Scott had been looking for a project to do up after selling their separate properties to buy their first family home. “We had planned to do up a property in our spare time but now we have a newborn, we realise that there is no spare time - I don’t know what we were thinking!” Scott added.
Luckily before taking the plunge, the young couple decided that a new build would suit them much better. When they spotted an advert online for Priors Orchard, a development by renowned local housebuilder Seaward Homes, they decided to take a look.
“We came round to the idea of a new build because there’s no work to do, so we then looked at quite a few along this stretch of coast. We both work in Chichester and Southbourne is equidistant to both our families so the location worked well but, more importantly, the build quality of Seaward Homes was far superior to any of the other new builds we’d seen, better by a country mile.”
Over 95% of the homes at Priors Orchard have already been sold at this popular Southbourne development, with the final homes released for sale through Henry Adams New Homes. There are now just two 3 bedroom semi-detached houses for sale, of differing designs, but each benefits from an ensuite to the principal bedroom as well as an attached garage and parking.
Scott and Roisin had managed to secure their home in the final phase at Priors Orchard. With two parking spaces and a garage, it’s made family life easier from the moment they arrive home. All the new carpets and kitchen appliances were installed ready for the day of completion and because the house they chose was previously a show home, the blinds and curtains were also included.
“We didn’t have to do anything except add black out blinds for Rafferty’s room,” they added. “It’ll be a fantastic place for him to grow up and there are primary and junior schools within 500m. Roisin loves the sea and the coast is just a scenic walk away across fields and there’s also a great farm shop nearby. When Rafferty was born, so many neighbours gave us cards and presents, it was really unexpected so it’s been an amazing welcome. Everything’s just been great, we can’t fault it at all.”
Prices for the final homes at Priors Orchard start from £427,950 and further enquiries should be made to Henry Adams New Homes on 01243 521833 or email sales@simplynewhomes.com to avoid missing out.
