Doing your bit
If you're looking to live a more sustainable lifestyle and want to continue to tackling the climate crisis, then a new Redrow home could be your perfect move. As a heat pump captures heat that is already resent in the environment, the system itself does not burn any fuel and therefore emits no carbon dioxide.
The average UK home has an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D while the Redrow Eco-Electric homes have a rating of B or higher.
A handy guide to heat pumps
Redrow's Eco-Electric homes are fitted with air source heat pumps (ASHP) which are far more efficient than gas boilers. While heat pumps may be relatively new for UK homes they are very common in mainland Europe and have been in use for a number of years. Take a look at Redrow's website for more information.
Fabric First
Building good quality, energy efficient homes starts with our fabric first approach. What does this mean? Well it's about building energy efficiency into the very fabric of the home, using enhanced insulation, highly efficient doors, windows and heating systems to reduce the home's energy use and retain heat. Redrow homes are designed around open plan living spaces and large windows to let in more natural light, reducing the reliance on electric lighting. Fresh air is also very important and a series of vents and fans help circulate air in the home and reduce the chance of condensation.

*Research by the HBG, based on EPC ratings, suggests that buyers of new build houses could have saved an average of £2,579 on their annual energy bills last year. HBF Report - Watt a Save
