The Witterings, Selsey and the surrounding area

A haven for sailors and holiday makers, the Witterings peninsula lies at the mouth of Chichester Harbour. Many properties here enjoy views of the Solent towards the Isle of Wight and it’s long been a popular destination for holiday makers keen to enjoy the sandy stretch of West Wittering Beach with has an EC Blue Flag for cleanliness. The area was largely developed after WWII and has grown in popularity ever since. East Wittering is a small seaside village which acts as a focal point for the local area with a good range of shops including greengrocers, family butchers, bakers, supermarkets and, of course, a fabulous fish monger

Selsey Bill is the southernmost tip of West Sussex with miles of fabulous beaches and panoramic sea views - and Selsey crab is a renowned local delicacy. Understandably popular with holidaymakers, it’s lively in summertime and as well as being a great place to live year round. The natural attractions of Bracklesham Bay, Pagham Nature Reserve and Chichester Harbour are hard to beat. Mentioned in the Domesday book, Selsey nowadays is a thriving town with secondary and primary schools, an arts society and Selsey Cricket Club which dates back to 1834.
